While working in the Washington State Senate in Olympia, WA, he met his wife, Stefanie. They have been together for over thirteen years and will celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary in July 2019. Seeing potential in the City of Renton and the many resources it has to offer, Ryan and Stefanie laid down their roots and bought their first home in the East Highlands in 2011. After learning that they were expecting their first child, they purchased a single family home in the Cascade neighborhood in 2014. They welcomed their first daughter, Molly, in March 2014. Three years later Molly became the elder sibling when her sister Lena was born in April of 2017.
